Family Activities
Calling all art explorers! Art Explorer sculpture trail booklets have been written and designed especially for kids and families to use while enjoying Wellington’s public art in the city centre.

Each Art Explorer booklet is packed with creative activities to challenge young artists and sightseers alike. Use the map and paper binoculars to take a closer look at some familiar and some hidden artworks, and take a pencil to complete the fun activities as you go.
Art Explorer: Civic Square is designed for younger art explorers, aged approximately 5 to 8 years old. Older art explorers between 9 and 12 years olds can use Art Explorer: Waterfront to use along Queens and Taranaki Wharves.
Instructions: Download and print the PDF of the trail. You may need to download the free Adobe programme (click on 'Adobe Acrobat File' in italics) in order to download the document. The trails are A3, double sided, colour activity sheets, but you can print them in black and white at A4 and stick them together. Cut off the two sections with the eyehole binoculars, stick them together, and cut out the eye holes.
Art Explorer sculpture trail packs can also be picked up from City Gallery Wellington, Wellington City Council, i-Site Visitor Centre on Civic Square, Central Library, CapitalE or Museum of Wellington, City and Sea.'
