The Art of Fiona Hall
The Art of Fiona Hall
Sunday 10 August, 2.00pm
International keynote lecture by Julie Ewington, Curatorial Manager, Australian Art, Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art and author of important monograph Fiona Hall (Piper Press 2005).
Fiona Hall is one of Australia’s most admired contemporary artists. Hall’s fascination with botanical classification as a metaphor for understanding the world and the meanings embedded in everyday objects and materials is investigated in her complex and absorbing work. She lures her audiences with exquisitely crafted works that are deeply engaged with the political and environmental impact of imperialism.
Julie Ewington will discuss Hall’s work over three decades. FREE.
